Operation Kino 66: Prometheus Reviewed And Discussed In Detail
This week on Operation Kino we’re taking our very hubristically named spaceship and heading off into the great beyond, as we review the new sci-fi epic Prometheus. And because this movie is so big and complicated, we devote Segment 3 to a more detailed and spoiler-filled conversation about the film and the many questions it leaves unanswered. Before any of that, though, there’s a lightning round inspired by Madagascar 3 and then tidbits, in which Da7e wants to rid the world of Fifty Shades of Grey, David breaks down the two types of mystery stories as it relates to BBC’s Sherlock, Katey likes Greta Gerwig much more than her movie Lola Versus, and Patches witnesses a group-sourced, shot-by-shot remake of Star Wars, and swears it’s actually great. We end, as always, with your lightning round answers for dessert.

Operation Kino #65: Snow White And The Huntsman Is A Bad Fairy Tale Movie, So What’s A Good One?
This week on Operation Kino, we’ve wandered into the dark forest with the help of a conveniently available white horse, as we review the new fairy tale adaptation Snow White and the Huntsman. From there we get into a surprisingly contentious conversation about modern-day takes on fairy tales, how popular they’ve become and how other movies can adapt fairy tales more successfully than Snow White and the Huntsman did. Before any of that, though, there’s a lightning round inspired by Piranha 3DD and tidbits with our special guest Kristy Puchko, stepping in for David this week; Da7e talks about Men in Black 3, Kristy wonders why you’re not talking more about Veep, Katey worries about all the May movies except The Avengers doing so badly, and Patches defends Tom Hooper on the occasion of the Les Miserables trailer. We end, as always, with your lightning round answers for dessert.

The Totally Rad Show: Snow White and the Huntsman | Movie Review
Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron star in a reimagining of the classic fairy tale, which adds Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman in a much more prominent role. Is this visual feast of magic and action the perfect summer treat, or does the pace make it feel like a movie fit for a more ponderous time of year? Hi ho, hi ho, it’s off to the review Dan, Jeff, and Alex go.
